Can your anemometer survive well in a twister while mounted to a car for storm chasing? Our anemometers are designed to be almost indestructible. All materials used are highly damage tolerant and will survive significant impacts from airborne debris or hail stone. Should a cup break, it can be easily replaced in the field without having to take apart the anemometer.
Are transparent anemometer cups strong enough to survive? Our transparent anemometer cups are made of the same material as bullet proof glass. They are mounted on a weaved carbon fiber rotor which is very tough.
Is the elliptical cup of our anemometer just another gimmick? Elliptic anemometer cup design is an engineering solution and explained in detail on our anemometer page.
Why is Elliptic Anemometer II translucent? The anemometer hub is translucent so that it is easy to detect when it is time to clean the hub labyrinth seal. Anemometer's cups are translucent because its UV and impact resistant material allows us to create this unique look.
On how many continents of the world can one find our anemometers? Barani Design anemometer and wind logger systems can be found on 6 of 7 continents of the world and Antarctica is in one of our customer's plans.
