Visual Guide to Interpreting Leaf Wetness Sensor Readings

Classification of leaf wetness with the BARANI DESIGN MeteoAG agricultural sensor node is automated based on the settings shown in the following visual guide. Leaf wetness classification rules follow:

  • The wetness threshold used to classify leaves as SLIGHTLY WET is 315 to 324 counts.

  • Classified as WET are leaves with sensor readings greater than 325 counts

MeteoAG with Phyto31 leaf wetness = 350 counts

MeteoAG with Phyton31 leaf wetness reading 330 counts

Leaf sensors with moisture deposits covering roughly over 20% of its surface with readings between 315 and 325 counts follow.

Leaves at the commonly used wetness threshold with moisture deposits covering over 10% of their surface with readings between dry and up to 315 counts

Leaves classified as DRY with readings below 315 counts
