Can MeteoTemp sensor work on 24V?

QUESTION: Can MeteoTemp® temperature and humidity sensors work safely on 24V?

ANSWER: Yes, the MeteoTemp sensor can work on 24VDC. Datasheet states 5…15 VDC which is due to the inrush current at higher voltages causing its triple-level lightning protection to activate. This can be alleviated by connecting in series a 1 kOhm resistor to the VCC power line. Obviously the current consumption will increase from its industry-leading less than 1 mA to something slightly higher. Nevertheless even the increased power consumption will still remain be one of industry’s best.
