QUESTION: How are the MeteoTemp and MeteoWind sensors wired? What are the wire colors and how to connect them to our RS485 MODBUS logger or PLC?

MeteoWind and MeteoTemp RS-485 MODBUS sensor wiring function and wire colors.

ANSWER: The wire colors for the all of the RS485 MODBUS sensors are the same for all BARANI DESIGN products. MeteoTemp, MeteoWind 2, Heated MeteoWind 2 all have identical wire colors and connection to make the sensors interchangeable and installation simple.

Heated MeteoWind 2, MeteoWind 2, MeteoTemp MODBUS sensor wire colors and function:

  • Brown wire - Power + (5 to 24VDC) (MeteoTemp 5 to 15VDC only)

  • White wire - Ground - (GND)

  • Green wire - RS485 A (Non-inverting - some PLC/logger systems may have A & B wires reversed)

  • Yellow wire - RS485 B (Inverting - some PLC/logger systems may have A & B wires reversed)
